Join RideSD for a classic Trains & Trails adventure — a transit-powered hike up Cowles Mountain, one of San Diego’s most iconic local peaks. We’re taking the 115 bus from SDSU together, proving that great hikes don’t need a car 🚍➡️🥾.

North Park Sunset Stroll
Join us on an 2-mile intermediate sunset walk from North Park to Balboa Park.
We’ll meet at YOGARD on University Ave and head south along 30th Street, exploring some of North Park’s lesser-known areas along the way. From Morley Field, we’ll enter Balboa Park, walk down through Florida Canyon, and then climb back up on the other side to reach the heart of the park.

Shops & Stops: Christmas Shopping in La Mesa
Mark your calendars, we’re going Holiday shopping!
Let’s all hop on the Orange line and enjoy an afternoon in La Mesa.
Are you hoping to score a unique gift on one of the many vendors? Join us!
Do you want to participate in a fun activity like ice skating or mini golf? Join us!
Do you just want to hang out with like minded people and sip some mulled wine? Definitely join us!
If you want to join us on the scenic ride going to La Mesa, join us on the Orange Line. We’re boarding at City College at 2:20pm.
Have kids? On the trolley they can make an origami Christmas craft!
Strong Towns Walk & Talk Bus Ride
Strong Towns is hosting one of their famous Walk & Talk events in Carmel Mountain Ranch. We want to provide an opportunity for people that don’t have a car or don’t want to attend.
Unfortunately that means, getting up early. We will take the 20 bus from Fashion Valley Transit Center at 8:54am.

Depending on the timing, we will either take the same bus back, or walk to Sabre Springs Station and take the 235 to City Heights/Downtown.

Trains & Trails Annie’s Canyon Trail
We’re back! The weather is getting a little bit more comfortable, so let’s do another hike. This time we’re going to North County!
We will hike the famous Annie’s Canyon. A popular slot canyon not far from the Solana Beach Station.
We are going to take the Coaster from Santa Fe Depot at 9:40am, so we’ll arrive in Solana Beach around 10:20am.
We will walk a total of roughly 3 miles. There are 2 Coaster trains back, one leaves at 12:41pm which might be a little tight, so we’re planning on having lunch or going to the beach up there and then heading back with the 2:01pm service, arriving at Santa Fe depot at 2:37pm.

Rack & Rides 101
Ever wondered HOW you’re supposed to mount your bike on the bus rack or whether you can bring your bike on the trolley?
So have we. That’s why we’re partnering with San Diego MTS and the San Diego County Bike Coalition for Rack & Ride 101!
Join us to learn how to load a bike with confidence on Friday, October 10th, 4pm - 6pm at the Bike Coalition office.
MTS staff will be on hand to answer all your questions!

What to Expect
The Original 40 offers an excellent selection of craft beer, hard kombucha, and seltzer, plus food options to keep you fueled while we chat about all things public transit and San Diego.
Getting There
Getting to Original 40 is easy by transit! Bus lines 2, 6, 7, and 10 all stop close to the venue, making it perfectly accessible for our transit-loving community.
Trains & Trails San Diego River Walk
Join us for an easy Father’s Day walk along the San Diego River. You don’t have to be a father to join but you can bring your father along.
We will start at Fashion Valley Station, which provides ample parking.
From there we’ll walk east until Rio Vista Station where we will take the trolley back to Fashion Valley.
All in all this is going to be a 2 mile easy walk.
SPECIAL EVENT: Oceanside Transit Center Transformation Presented by NCTD
The Oceanside Transit Center is getting a major glow-up, and you’re invited to get the inside scoop! Join us for a fun, laid-back presentation from North County Transit District on the exciting changes coming to this major hub – from new housing and retail to vibrant public spaces and a better transit experience.

Buses & Brews - Walking Edition
Join us for another round of “Buses & Brews”!
This time, we're not just grabbing a drink—we're going for a stroll. We'll walk together from Belmont Park to Crystal Pier, then hop on the bus as a group to head back.
It’s a perfect outing for anyone curious about using public transit in San Diego but hasn’t taken the leap yet. All you need is a Pronto Pass or a bank card to ride.
We'll kick things off at Draft South Mission. Parking is available in the lots around Belmont Park.

Trains & Trails Tecolote Canyon
Are you ready for a hike? RideSD invites you all for an easy hike in Tecolote Canyon. You will benefit from leaving your car at home because this is a one way hike. We’ll meet at the bus stop. Busses arrive at 10:12 and 10:20.

First hike of the year! We’re gonna take it easy an are just going to do a short 2 mile hike starting from UCSD Central Campus Station.
We’ll meet at UCSD at 10:21am but we will also go together from Downtown

Trains & Trails: Balboa Park and South Park
Join us for our 2nd group hike in Balboa Park. Enjoy an easy 2 mile, mostly flat stroll from Golden Hill through Balboa Park until we end up in South Park for some relaxed lunch.
We’ll meet at Dark Horse Coffee Roasters where everyone is able to get the caffeine fix and then we will start the hike together.
Buses & Brews North County
We didn’t meet for a while. Let’s check out North County. Start time is coordinated with Coaster arrival times from the North and South.
It’s an informal hang out to talk about transit all over the county. So if you have ideas how to make transit better, especially in North County, please come by.
