-

-
Increasing Transit Ridership & Improving the Transit Experience
In our status quo: transportation is the largest source of emissions in the County, cars are a financial burden on families, and traffic is worsening. Increasing transit ridership is integral to solving these issues, and to attract riders we must improve the transit experience.
-
10 Transit Lifelines
RideSD supports the 10 Transit Lifelines set of priorities by the San Diego Transportation Equity Working Group. These include prioritizing Environmental Justice in regional planning, the Purple Line, and more.

Youth Opportunity Pass (YOP)
RideSD supports YOP since it is transforming our transportation culture to make transit a preferred option. YOP more than tripled youth ridership and survey results show that 80% of those youth riders will continue using transit as adults. Thanks to YOP, more adults will be riding and paying into our transit system.
-
LOSSAN Rail Corridor
RideSD supports ensuring the health and continual improvement of the LOSSAN Rail Corridor, which is currently falling into the ocean. Because it is the second busiest passenger rail corridor in the country and an important regional security asset, elected leaders must prioritize LOSSAN in decision-making and not allow NIMBYism to block reasonable solutions to its issues.
-
Bus Lanes
RideSD supports bus lanes since they are proven to improve the speed and reliability of buses, especially during peak hours. This helps to make transit a competitive mode of transportation for more people and thus attract more riders.
Bus lanes are most effective when they are continuous and paired with signal priority.
