5 Bridges Walk

Length: 3+ miles

Duration: 2 hr

Difficulty: Easy

Dogs Allowed: Yes

Shade: Limited

Start Point: HOB Coffee on Park

End Point: North Park Beer Company - Bankers Hill

Based on San Diego’s famous Seven Bridges Hike we came up with our own transit compatible version to this hike. Start in the heart of Hillcrest at Hob Coffee. Conveniently located at 5 bus lines (1, 7, 10, 11 and 215), you can satisfy your need for caffeine and start the walk.

Head East to get to bridge #1, Georgia Bridge. After that head West through part of Hillcrest and University Heights to reach the Vermont Street Pedestrian Bridge (Bridge #2). After this you have the opportunity to get some refreshments of any of the grocery stores at The Hub.

Continuing along University Ave in Hillcrest, you will reach bridge #3 the overpass over the 163 before you can make your way slowly towards Banker’s Hill. Take your time at Spruce Street Suspension Bridge (bridge #4) and enjoy the views on the high-rises downtown or the plans landing at San Diego airport.

You’ve almost reached your goal now. Just cross the last bridge in this walk - bridge #5 Quince Street Pedestrian Bridge. You are now in the middle of Banker’s Hill. The bus lines 3 and 11 are only a short walk away.

But instead of going home directly, why don’t you enjoy some of the great restaurants on Fifth Avenue. We chose North Park Brewing Company but there many different places for different tastes.
